The proposal

  • A fair and affordable pay rise with minimum change
  • Salary increase of 2% per year for three years
  • Allowances increase by 2% per year for three years
  • No loss of conditions
  • Leave, superannuation, retention payment, travelling allowance and studies assistance continue
  • Ordinary hours of work increase to 38 hours per week to offset remuneration increases

Enterprise Agreement Ballot

  • The ballot for the proposed Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2016-2019 will be held from Monday 21 November until 2.00pm on Friday 25 November 2016.
  • The ballot will be conducted by GoVote - an independent ballot company. GoVote will email ballot instructions to all MOP(S) Act employees before the ballot period commences.
  • Employees may vote online or by telephone, following the instructions in the email from GoVote.
  • Employees will need their seven-digit Chris ID (also known as a staff number), as recorded on their payslip or in HR Online. View the instructions on obtaining you staff number.

  • The result of the ballot will be advised as soon as possible after the ballot closes at 2.00pm on Friday 25 November 2016.
  • If the ballot is successful, the enterprise agreement will be lodged with the Fair Work Commission for approval and will commence operation seven days after approval. The pay increase will be processed in the next available pay.
