You are invited to attend a half-day workshop designed to enhance your existing skills to create controlled, tailored and powerful speeches.
Advanced Speech Writing is a highly practical session where you will have the opportunity to write a short speech and present it, reflect on the fundamentals of speech writing and to explore the key stages of good speech writing for parliamentarians. If you are in the process of writing a speech bring it along and we can discuss.
There is a strong focus on the communication process, knowing the speech giver and the audience, ‘powerful stories’, and using aids and techniques to enhance speech delivery.
What will the session cover?
Topics covered in this session include:
- crafting a speech in your employer’s voice
- preparing for ad hoc and complex situations
- tailoring speeches that control the agenda
- showing how to value add to speeches through telling stories and using visual and audio aids.
This course is available to all MOP(S) Act employees.
