The ballot for the proposed Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2020-23 was successful. The enterprise agreement was supported by 52.4 per cent of the valid votes cast (940 yes / 855 no), with a participation rate of 83.3 per cent.
I would again like to thank all those who participated and contributed to the development of the enterprise agreement throughout the bargaining process.
The enterprise agreement will now be lodged with the Fair Work Commission for approval. The approval process is expected to take several weeks. The enterprise agreement will commence operation seven days after it is approved by the Fair Work Commission.
Information on the implementation of the new enterprise agreement will be provided in the coming weeks.
