COVID-19 Update - 21 July 2020

Assisting staff to remain safe and healthy is one of our highest priorities. With new information being released in response to events, we again remind you of the importance of keeping up to date on restrictions within your state or territory. The Australian Government website provides the relevant information.

For those of you based in Victoria, you will be aware the Victorian Government has announced that if you live in metropolitan Melbourne or Mitchell Shire, you must wear a face covering when you leave your home from 11.59pm on Wednesday 22 July 2020 and Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions remain in place.

For offices in these areas that are open, masks must be worn by staff and visitors. Other circumstances where masks should be worn and exemptions for wearing masks are listed in the link above.

Masks are able to be claimed as an office expense and limited numbers can be purchased through COS at https://www.cos.net.au/ or you can claim reimbursement if you use your own vendor. Instructions on the correct use and storage of masks should be provided with your purchase. Additional information is also provided at https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/face-masks-covid-19.

In addition, the NSW Government has advised all individuals that have been to the hotspot locations on dates and times listed on the NSW Government COVID-19 webpage, to self-isolate and get tested immediately. ACT residents may also be impacted.

Please remember if you are feeling unwell, stay at home and do not attend work. If you are experiencing cold and/or flu-like symptoms, please get tested. All positive results are required to be reported to your office and MaPS at MOPSSupport@finance.gov.au.

For anyone requiring support, confidential counselling is available from the EAP to all staff, their family and household members.

If you have any concerns or queries in relation to this information please contact mpshelp@finance.gov.au.
