National Safe Work Month

October is National Safe Work Month. This year’s theme is ‘work health and safety through COVID-19’. The theme recognises the impacts of COVID-19 on businesses, employers and workers.

With varying levels of restrictions still in place around the country, you may have different working arrangements with either returning to work in your office or continuing to work remotely.

No matter where you’re working, workplace health and safety is your right and responsibility.

Ministerial and Parliamentary Services (MaPS) is dedicated to ensuring your safety and wellbeing are supported in the workplace.

  • MaPS website has a dedicated page for WHS arrangements during COVID-19 which lists a range of resources including mental and physical health and wellbeing information and practical tips for your office management.
  • MaPS WHS Library also contains a wide range of links to WHS and wellbeing sites.

For more information on National Safe Work Month visit Safe Work Australia.

For more information about workplace health and safety in your office contact MOPSWHS@finance.gov.au. You can also raise any WHS concerns or suggestions with your WHS Committee Members.
