Resumption of bargaining for the next MOP(S) ACT enterprise agreement

Key points

  • Bargaining meetings for the next MOP(S) Act enterprise agreement will be resuming shortly

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government earlier this year temporarily deferred bargaining for a new enterprise agreement to replace the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2016-2019. While COVID‑19 continues to present challenges, considerable progress has been made in dealing with the health and economic impacts of the pandemic.

The Government will resume bargaining shortly, with the intention of finalising a new enterprise agreement as soon as practicable. The Government acknowledges the progress already made in the bargaining process by bargaining representatives, and the contribution of MOP(S) Act employees to the broader Commonwealth effort during the pandemic.

Bargaining will be conducted in accordance with the Fair Work Act 2009 and the Government’s Public Sector Workplace Relations Policy 2020.

Information on the bargaining progress, including current employee bargaining representatives and union bargaining teams, is available on the Ministerial and Parliamentary Services website.

If employees have any questions in relation to the resumption of bargaining or bargaining in general, please email Parliamentarians are invited to contact their Advice and Support Director.

Yours sincerely
