All Opposition Office Holders Four full-time electorate employee positions. An Opposition Office Holder can also engage relief electorate employees subject to the limits of his or her Relief Staff Budget, which is calculated based on 150 days salary at the base of the Electorate Officer B classification.

Personal employee positions are allocated at the discretion of the Prime Minister. A block of personal employee positions are provided to the Leader of the Opposition to allocate to Shadow Ministers, including other Opposition Office Holders.

Members provided with an additional electorate office An additional full-time electorate employee position at the Electorate Officer B classification, to be located in the additional electorate office.

Where an additional electorate employee position has been allocated, additional Relief Staff Budget, which is calculated based on 50 days salary at the base of the Electorate Officer B classification.

Employees’ Travel
All Opposition Office Holders Electorate employee travel within Australia on official business as directed by the employing Opposition Office Holder, including travelling allowance for each overnight stay away from the employee’s work base, within the limits of the Electorate Staff Travel Budget. One nominated electorate employee of an Opposition Office Holder, however, may travel as directed anywhere in Australia on official business without debit from the Electorate Staff Travel Budget.

Personal employee travel within Australia on official business as directed by the employing Opposition Office Holder, including travelling allowance for each overnight stay away from the employee’s work base, subject to a limit of 120 nights of travelling allowance per year that a personal employee whose work base is other than Canberra may claim in Canberra.  Personal employee travel is not subject to the limits of the Electorate Staff Travel Budget.
