Introduction to Online HR

Who is the course for?

MOP(S) Act employees and parliamentarians who use Online HR. Online HR provides parliamentarians and MOP(S) Act employees with secure online access to employee and manager self-service software.

About this course

Online HR access allows employees to:

  • view payslips and pay history
  • view personal details
  • update their personal email address
  • apply for full pay Annual and Personal leave including Carer’s leave.

How the course is delivered

This online course is structured as a series of short guides to help you access Online HR and how to use some of its functions. You can complete the course in your own time and use it as a reference tool.

Component one – Logging on for the first time

To be issued a logon to Online HR, you must have an official .gov.au email address and a current employment agreement. Once you have received your official email address, contact the MaPS Help Desk who will create your Online HR log on.

Component twoOnline HR basics

A guide to logging on to and navigating Online HR. Learn how to change and reset your password as well as updating and viewing your details.

Component threeViewing your payslip

Learn how to view your pay details, payslip and also convert it to a printable PDF version.

Component fourApplying for leave

You can apply for full pay annual and personal leave (including carer’s leave) in Online HR. If you need to apply for leave at reduced pay, you’ll need to submit a leave application.

Component fiveOnline HR for managers

If you are a parliamentarian or authorised employee, learn how to view and approve or decline leave applications submitted in Online HR.

Eligibility

This course is available to all MOP(S) Act employees and is provided as part of the Professional Development Program.

Cost

Free.

Courses offered as part of the Professional Development Program (PDP), under the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2016-2019, are provided free of charge.
