Mental Health First Aid Training

Who is the course for?

Anyone who recognises the need to understand and assist people experiencing poor mental health and help those experiencing a mental health crisis.

About this course

Mental health problems can affect anyone in the community and inaccurate and stigmatising attitudes towards people with mental illness are common. Many people lack the knowledge, skills, and confidence to support a friend, family member or co-worker experiencing a mental health problem, including how to approach someone and start a safe conversation.

How the course is delivered

This course is facilitated in two parts:

  • Digital online learning (approx. 6 - 8 hours, self-directed)
  • Half-day face to face

You must attend the half-day training within 3 months of completing the digital content. To access the half-day training, you must provide your preferred MHFA session details to the MOPS Training team

Learning Outcomes

Becoming a Mental Health First Aider will mean you are more able to assist someone who may be developing a mental health problem or is experiencing a mental health crisis.
