The Parliamentary Business Resources Act 2017 imposes overarching obligations.
The dominant purpose and value for money tests and specified conditions must be met. See s25, 26, 27, 28.
The Commonwealth is not liable to pay an expense or provide a public resource where you contravene any of these obligations (s29, PBR Act).
One car parking space is provided, where possible, for your electorate (or Ministerial or office holder) office for your parliamentary business. It must not be used for commercial purposes.
Car parking spaces are not provided for your employees or visitors to your office. One space per office is provided at Commonwealth expense (although additional spaces might be provided as part of the lease at nil cost to the Commonwealth).
The car parking space must not be used for commercial purposes – for example, it cannot be used by anyone for a fee, or by a local business.
