Post Office Boxes

Overarching Obligations

The Parliamentary Business Resources Act 2017 imposes overarching obligations.
The dominant purpose and value for money tests and specified conditions must be met. See s25, 26, 27, 28.

A post office box for your electorate (or Ministerial or Office Holder) office is provided for purposes related to your parliamentary business. It must not be used for commercial purposes.

Administration

You may have a post office box for each office which is outside Parliament House and the Commonwealth Parliament Offices. Value for money includes considering the smallest sized PO box to meet your needs. It must not be used for commercial purposes, such as using it as the return address for a business.

Contact your Ministerial and Parliamentary Services State Manager to arrange your post office box.
