As 2022 draws to a close, there are a few things to keep in mind:
Annual closedown
The annual closedown period for MOP(S) Act employees is from 24 December 2022 to 2 January 2023 (inclusive). These days are considered public holidays under the MOP(S) EA. Any additional days that your office is closed will require you to take approved leave.
Taking leave
You should plan ahead and submit all leave requests early to enable MaPS or your manager to review and approve in plenty of time.
Leave must be approved in PEMS in advance to taking it. Information on how to view your leave entitlements and apply for leave in PEMS can be found here.
If you are considering leave without pay or leave at half pay, please be aware that leave taken adjacent to a public holiday, effects your pay across all those days. When you take leave on both the day before and the day after a public holiday, the public holiday is paid at the same rate as that of the leave.
