In relation to the Review of the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984, the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C) has agreed a further and final extension to the deadline for submissions.
To ensure that there is an appropriate opportunity for all interested parties, in particular current and former parliamentary staff and parliamentarians, to provide a submission to the Review, submissions will now close at 5pm AEST on Friday 1 July 2022.
PM&C encourages you and your colleagues to provide input to the Review. The terms of reference are attached, and you can make a submission through the MOP(S) Act review website: https://www.pmc.gov.au/government/review-members-parliament-staff-mops-act-1984 .
Interviews
You can also contact the MoP(S) Act Review Team within PM&C for an opportunity to talk to the team. In your email, please include your contact details, current or previous role (e.g. Government/Non-Government, Electorate Officer/Personal staff), whether you would be comfortable participating in a group interview and any important information about your availability. Interviews will be conducted across the remainder of June and July 2022 and can be arranged by phone, video or in-person to account for personal circumstances. The review team will make best efforts within the time available to speak with all those who express an interest.
