The Special Minister of State announced the commencement of the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2024-27 via Ministerial Circular 2024/03.
The Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2024-27 (Enterprise Agreement) (see related resources) sets the employment terms and conditions for all electorate and personal staff, including senior staff. This includes:
- types of employment (e.g. ongoing, non-ongoing, casual, full-time and part-time)
- salaries and pay rises
- allowances
- relocations
- working hours
- leave entitlements
- learning and development arrangements
- allowances and payments when an employment ends.
The Enterprise Agreement ensures staff have consistent and transparent employment arrangements. Details of the Enterprise Agreement and the changes from the previous enterprise agreement are available on the 2024-2027 Bargaining page.
The Enterprise Agreement commenced on 5 November 2024 and operates until replaced by a new enterprise agreement.
Bargaining is conducted in accordance with the Fair Work Act 2009 and the Government’s Australian Government Public Sector Workplace Relations Policy 2023.
The Enterprise Agreement guidelines (see related resources) support the operation of the Enterprise Agreement and will continue to operate to the extent that they are not inconsistent with the enterprise agreement and will be reviewed in consultation with the Employee Consultative Group. Fact sheets under Related resources provide relevant information in the interim.
