Maternity leave application

Maternity leave entitlements are provided for under the Maternity Leave (Commonwealth Employees) Act 1973. MOP(S) Act employees with 12 months of eligible service receive 12 weeks paid maternity leave under the Act plus four weeks of additional paid leave under the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Act 2020-23.

Maternity leave can be taken as a combination of paid and unpaid leave up to a maximum of 52 weeks. If you would like to take other leave alongside your maternity leave, please refer to the Leave and public holidays information. Use Form 30 for Long Service Leave requests. All other leave requests should be processed through PEMS.
