Please note that from 1 July 2025, expenses related to livestreaming equipment, services, maintenance, repairs, or ongoing costs for uploading footage will no longer be claimable outside your annual office expenses budget .

Temporary provisions were introduced to support Parliamentarians in navigating the unique challenges of the pandemic, particularly in enabling television broadcasting. Until 30 June 2025, the existing cap of $6,000 (excluding GST) for services, maintenance, repairs, and ongoing costs within a 12-month period will remain in place. From 1 July 2025, any such expenses incurred will need to be managed within your office budget or personally, as they will no longer be claimable under the expiring measure.

Your office budget continues to support a wide range of prescribed office expenses under the PBR Act, including the maintenance of minor office equipment used in conducting your parliamentary business. However, please be aware that this budget cannot be used for the production or placement of content for television broadcasting.

Further information on the restrictions around broadcasting on television and office expenses is available on the Conditions for claiming page.
