Pooled or Shared Car Certification to Apply Reporting Exclusion

Period 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024

I declare that the vehicle detailed below was a shared or pool car during the FBT year 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024, as defined below, and should therefore NOT be a reportable fringe benefit.
I have attached the appropriate records to substantiate this declaration.

Definition:

"Pooled or Shared" car: A pooled or shared car is a car that is provided to two or more employees for private use.

For example, if another Senator or Member, or any employee employed under the MOP(S) Act has driven your Private Plated Vehicle (PPV) for private purposes, or kept the vehicle at or near their place of residence on one or more occasions during the FBT year commencing 1 April 2023 the provision to you of that PPV will not be a Reportable Fringe Benefit. Similarly, if your PPV was previously allocated to another Senator, Member or MOP(S) Act employee during the FBT year, no Reportable Fringe Benefit arises.

Note:

If you complete this certification and declare that your vehicle is a pooled or shared car, you do not need to complete the Declaration of Availability of Private-Plated Vehicle.
