The ballot for the new MOP(S) Act Enterprise Agreement 2024-27 was successful

The ballot for the proposed Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2024-27 closed at 2.00pm Monday, 19 August 2024

The Special Minister of State has announced the successful ballot result for the new Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2024-27 via Ministerial Circular 2024/02.

Bargaining for the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2024-27

Announcement for commencement of bargaining for the 2024-2027 enterprise agreement was on 27 November 2023. The 2020-23 Enterprise Agreement that commenced on 5 August 2021 will operate until replaced by a new enterprise agreement.

About the EA

The Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2020-23 (Enterprise Agreement) (see related resources) sets the employment terms and conditions for all electorate staff and personal staff, including senior staff. This includes:

  • types of employment (e.g. ongoing, non-ongoing, casual, full-time and part-time)
  • salaries and pay rises
  • allowances
  • relocations
  • working hours
  • leave entitlements
  • learning and development arrangements
  • allowances and payments when an employment ends.

The Enterprise Agreement ensures staff have consistent and transparent employment arrangements. Details of the Enterprise Agreement and the changes from the previous enterprise agreement are available on the details of the Enterprise Agreement page.

The Enterprise Agreement commenced on 5 August 2021 and operates until replaced by a new enterprise agreement.

Bargaining is conducted in accordance with the Fair Work Act 2009 and the Government’s Public Sector Workplace Relations Policy 2023
