Key Points
- The Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2024-27 will commence on 5 November 2024.
- Increases in rates for salary and allowances will be backdated to 5 August 2024 and are expected to be paid on 21 November 2024.
- Retention payments for eligible staff are expected to be paid on 5 December 2024.
- Electorate support budgets will automatically be adjusted.
The Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2024-27 was approved by the Fair Work Commission on 29 October 2024 and will commence operation on 5 November 2024.
- Increases in rates for salary and allowances will be backdated to 5 August 2024 and are expected to be paid on 21 November 2024
- All other terms and conditions of the Agreement commence on 5 November 2024 and are not backdated.

Guidelines will continue to operate to the extent that they are not inconsistent with the enterprise agreement and will be reviewed in consultation with the Employee Consultative Group. The fact sheets provide relevant information in the interim.
Parliamentarians’ electorate support budget will automatically be adjusted in PEMS to include the backdated increase in rates.
Parliamentarians and staff will be contacted separately in relation to transitional arrangements.
