A reminder that there are a number of supports available to assist current and former MOP(S) Act employees.
Parliamentary Workplace Support Service (PWSS)
The PWSS, is an independent support and complaint service, which offers confidential, trauma-informed support and is available 24/7 for current or former MOP(S) Act staff and parliamentarians who have been affected by an incident or grievance. The PWSS can be contacted on 1800 PH PWSS (1800 747 977), SMS to 0487 112 755 or on the PWSS website.
Employee Assistance Provider (EAP)
The EAP provider, Benestar, is an independent, professional and confidential counselling service available to assist with work, life and health and wellbeing issues. To make an appointment please call 1300 360 364. Further information about the EAP services can be found on the MaPS website.

- The Police on 000, if you are in fear for your immediate safety.
- Lifeline – Call 13 11 14 of lifeline.org.au for short-term support if you are feeling overwhelmed or experiencing distress.
- New Access Workplaces – is an evidenced-based mental health coaching service available for all MOP(S) Act employees. This is a free and confidential service, through Beyond Blue, that can be accessed with a GP referral or mental health treatment plan. - Additional training is available for individuals and offices through MOP(S) Learning. This includes Mental Health First Aid, the Accidental Counsellor, Dealing with conflict and difficult behaviours; and Constituency Management, all of which are available to book into through MOP(S) Learning or by contacting the Help Desk to ask for a specific session for your office.
