Workplace health and safety

Roles and responsibilities

Under the WHS Act, parliamentarians, MOP(S) Act employees and Finance share the responsibility for eliminating or minimising the risks of workplace bullying and harassment.

WHS policies

A range of WHS policies have been developed to support a safe and healthy working environment for Parliamentarians and MOP(S) Act employees.

Preventing WHS incidents

MaPS is committed to creating a safe and healthy working environment for MOP(S) Act employees. MaPS provides training, worksite assessments and adjustments, and flu vaccination programs.

Reporting incidents and hazards

Work-related incidents are those that occur during the course of undertaking duties connected to your employment. Some serious work-related incidents are notifiable under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and must be reported to Comcare immediately.

Emergency Response Management

All offices provided under the Parliamentary Business Resources Act 2017 (PBR Act) must participate in annual ERM audits conducted by the departments contracted service provider
